Treated Us Great
8.0Good backpacker hotel/hostel. Staff and owner were very nice and helpful. They would do anything for you. Let us check in early after all the trekkers left in the morning and they cleaned the room for us right away. Booked great treking through them. Nice fire pit in evening to socialize with your fellow travellers. If hot water is not working just ask as the system seems to air lock sometimes, otherwise nice hot showers. Pancakes are standard for breakfast unless you ask for something else. Bit off the beaten path but nice if you want a quiet setting. Rooms not that sound proof but most of the people staying were up early in the morning for trekking so there did not seem to be an issue with late night noise.

Good place to spend a night or two
8.0Good enough place to stay a night or two in Kalaw. For the price, it's a good value. Breakfast is okay, staff are quite nice, and the whole place has a cool, rustic feel to it. Bathroom could use a little updating but it's fine.
Feeling Home
8.0Railroad Hotel is a new 30 room boutique hotel located near the train station of Kalaw Town . Stayed with them March 2017. The owner of this hotel took over this property for less than 4 months I think . He is still at the mid of working to improve and make it a unique places for the traveller. Super helpful and easygoing. I booked one night just to rest before I head to my next destination. And ended up stayed with them for 5 nights . U can't complain much for paying this rate . This was my second trip to kalaw .I tried the other hotel close to the town with higher rates, u will not have a good sleep staying too close to the town . I highly recommend u to stay here if u are not those who expect too much for paying such price ;)
Ok hotel
6.0Located next to the train station, you need to walk a bit to get to the center. Rooms themselves are ok but bathroom are really old, no toilet paper, no water for a while. Breakfast location is good on a terass, breakfast ok with fruit, rice& eggs. Overpriced in my opinion
