10.0This is an old building, but has been updated. I booked the least expensive room offered, just to see what the hotel was like and I was pleasantly surprised with both the size of the room (huge room!) and the quality of the furnishings, this hotel offers quality similar to, or better than some of the best 4 and 5 star hotels that I have been in, for a price that is very affordable. The hotel is in the city center, on a major street, with both bus and tram stops across the street from the hotel, so travel within the city is very easy. The area around the hotel is also very walkable and several landmarks (Opera, Castle) are within walking distance. Both the Train and Bus stations are together and can be accessed with the Tram (# 6 Tram goes to both for 20 UAH, USD ~$ 0.50). There are also several good restaurants within walking distance. If there are any "drawbacks" with this hotel, they would be that since this is an old hotel there is no elevator and also no handicap access, so if you are mobility restricted this is not the hotel for you, as there is no way to access the upper floors except with the stairs. The only other comment that I would make is that most of the hotel staff do not speak English, they speak Ukrainian, but I had no problem communicating with them in Russian.

Lovely Lviv
8.0The British Club has great charm. It is helpful that some of the staff speak good English. Our suite was great, the bed was overly soft and needs retiring but otherwise the rooms were spacious and well maintained with good facilities provided. Location is excellent next to the opera and an easy walk to the centre. The opera is beautiful and tickets are cheap, give it a try!

10.0Good location. Near city center. No lift. Breakfast dishes were sometimes wet and smelled funky.
