The staff is very friendly and the location is very good. Unfortunately the towels and the bed sheet were dirty (multiple stains). Moreover, the soundproofing of the room is not good (you can easily hear the neighbors). There is a new breakfast formula compared to last year, but I find the previous one better.

− Some minor upgrades would have made the stay more reasonable was a bit of a let down that it felt ignored and I think staff would be more happy if place was better maintained as needs attention before gets too bad

We had a lovely stay at Akana Boutique. We had a third floor pool facing room which was nice and quiet, the room itself was clean, with comfy bed, airy and the bathroom was decent. The staff had a specuial surpirse for us as it was our weddign anniversary, which was a nice touch. The location is good, it's near some decent shops and warungs off the beach, and just an easy 5-10 minute walk to the beach. The fact the hotel has its own sunbeds on a great spot at the beach is a real bonus. We based ourselves here, eating at the nearby warungs on several days and they were never busy or unavailable. The free bikes are also a great bonus - we used these one evening to head up to northern Sanur and the different (busier) atmosphere. Our one main complaint was the included breakfast - we found it quite limiting in what it offered as you had to make one set choice from around 4-5 different options. For example, one morning our son fancied bacon with his scrambled eggs but was charged extra for this, despite the fact that on other mornings we didn't include bacon when we could have, or declined sausage for example. I understand charging non-guests for breakfast extras but feel that for residents there should be more flexibility on the choice at breakfast without the fear of being charged if one morning you may have one extra item. The morning staff seemed quite reluctant to allow any flexibiliity. The items were often quite cold too. Having said all this, I would recommend the hotel and would stay again at the right price. The pool area is a nice addition to chill out, the cocktails were well made and the staff were really very nice and helpful at all times. Just please loosen up the breakfast approach and it would probably then be 5 stars from me.

Fantastic boutique hotel in quiet area of Sanur

This is our second stay at Akana Boutique Hotel and again we were very happy. The room is spacious and very clean. Staff are excellent and very friendly and accommodating. Definitely will return.
