Nice staff and big room, but not very good value compared to similarly priced hotels

Very good location, across the road from the beach. The swimming pool and kids area are good but were very busy when we stayed. The room was big and comfortable,

− Security was a surprise for me - there were a couple of open gates where members of the public could get into the pool area and the stairs to the rooms. The only food available at the food is mainly seafood and it is expensive,

− I would like to formally raise a complaint regarding my check-in experience at A-One The Royal Cruise Hotel Pattaya. Upon arrival, I was informed by the Assistant Front Desk Manager, Mr. IZE, that I was required to provide a security deposit of THB 12,000 for my four-night stay. I was surprised by this amount, as no such requirement was clearly disclosed during the booking process on Booking.com. When I politely asked where this deposit requirement was stated, Mr. IZE engaged in a prolonged discussion that lasted approximately 30 minutes. Instead of providing a clear explanation, he repeatedly insisted on the THB 12,000 deposit. I specifically requested that he show me where this amount was disclosed either on Booking.com or on the hotel's website. After reviewing the information himself, Mr. IZE was unable to find any mention of a THB 12,000 deposit. The only information available referred to a THB 3,000 security deposit. He then explained that the hotel's internal staff had made an error by not specifying that the THB 3,000 amount was allegedly per day and stated that they would correct the information. I also offered an alternative solution by requesting that the hotel place a hold on my American Express credit card for the required deposit amount. Mr. IZE informed me that their payment system did not accept American Express cards. I explained that this limitation was not my responsibility and should not justify imposing an undisclosed deposit requirement on guests. What I found most disappointing was not only the lack of transparency regarding the deposit policy, but also the manner in which the situation was handled. Despite the confusion arising from information that was not properly disclosed, Mr. IZE did not offer any apology for the inconvenience caused.
