9.0I stayed at The Wyvill Arms recently and was made extremely welcome from first arriving. The establishment is totally family run and it has that “can’t do enough” for you atmosphere. The room I had was the Captain’s Cabin and the décor matched. It was to my liking along with a big comfortable bed. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, good choices available and cooked to one’s preferences. I would recommend the place to anyone, and should I be visiting the area again, this is where I would stay.

9.0Everyone from the reception, waiting staff and the owners were so friendly at the Wyville Arms it made our stay so much more special. The rooms were extremely comfortable and very well appointed with fantastic walk in shower en-suites in both rooms (we were travelling with my parents, who were also delighted with their room and the facilities). The view across the fields from our room was lovely. We had a delicious evening meal and the breakfast in the morning was very tasty. All in all a great hotel and we were sorry we were only staying for one night. My parents are considering travelling up to stay there again on their own for a few nights as there is so much to see in the area.

− Could do with black out curtains More storage space for tea and coffee making as wasn’t enough room. Road noisy with window open so could do with either a sheet or lighter duvet as room very warm. Fan was welcomed addition Could do with outside space tidying up as didn’t match rest of the high finish inside which was a shame Location was alright but had to use car to go anywhere
