Very disappointed as this was part of a gift to my husband
3.0The breakfast was good
− Everything, no restaurant even though it is advertised as having a restaurant, rooms were very hot, snd quite dirty, no fans available
Exceeded Expectations - Thank You! 🤩
10.0Owner and breakfast staff were lovely! Very welcoming family hotel all round. Thank you! We stayed for two nights with our 7 month old. The staff were very accommodating. It's in a fantastic location for climbing Snowdon. If you'd prefer a less strenuous hike though, or cannot climb with a baby/children (like myself), then there are plenty of beautiful, shorter hikes and walks around the area too. There is a SPAR shop about a 2 minute walk from the hotel, which was very convenient, as well as another bar which serves authentic Thai food, apparently, as unfortunately we didn't have time to try it, but we were told by several locals that it was authentic Thai cuisine. Breakfast was consistently delicious! The cooked breakfast was made to order, the perfect amount, and just what we needed to set us up for the day! They offered cereals and fruit juices which you could help yourself to as well. The young waitress was very polite and attentive, coming from the area she was able to give me some great suggestions for baby friendly hikes too. Bedroom was spacious with lots of storage, vanity, and a hairdryer. Beautiful views overlooking sheep and mountains. The mattress was comfortable, but I think it may have been memory foam which personally we're not big fans of, however, saying that, we did sleep really well here for two nights. We had a few drinks in the bar area with friends and family after a full day hiking, as well as some lovely conversations about the area with other guests, and the owner. The bar area was quintessentially pub-like, with plenty of nostalgic pub and cottage-style décor. We absolutely loved it! Drinks were very reasonably priced too. Highly recommend staying here. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you and hope to see you again for another stay in the future! 🤩🥰
Pleasant stay for 2 nights, wasn't expecting perfection. The weather made it uncomfortable
6.0Breakfast was first class, full English with no unnecessary additions. Room had a nice view of the hills across the main road. Host was very helpful and flexible. The carpark was spacious and shaded by tall trees.
− The decor and fittings were from a previous era, and quite tired. The shower, toilet ensuite had an odd smell, and the sink was in the room. We stayed on a very hot night and the road noise with windows open wide was disturbing.
We had booked a short break to make a visit to Snowdon and enjoyed our stay at Elen’s Castle. We did cut our trip short
10.0Well placed for taking day trips out to various places; our room was clean & comfortable; friendly & welcoming owner
− There was nothing negative to say about the property
