We stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone for one night in July 2025 as a family of four. We chose the hotel mainly as an overnight stop before flying from Shanghai Pudong Airport the following day. The room was spacious enough for our family and generally comfortable. It had a child-friendly theme with a small tent, which our children enjoyed. The room itself was perfectly acceptable for a short stay, although the location did not offer much for us beyond being relatively convenient for our onward journey. Unfortunately, the check-in experience was extremely disappointing. The process already took some time, but the most serious issue was that the front desk failed to return my passport. I only noticed after reaching the room and immediately went back downstairs. At first, the reception staff denied having it, and I had to insist that it had not been returned. After some time, they eventually found and gave it back to me. This was a significant and stressful service failure, and the way the situation was initially handled showed very little care or accountability. We had dinner at the hotel, which was perfectly fine for an overnight stay. The restaurant staff were friendly and provided much better service than we experienced at reception. I did not sleep particularly well, although I cannot say with certainty whether this was related to the room, jet lag or another reason. The room was adequately clean and offered very good value, especially considering how inexpensive the rate was. The child-friendly setup, including the small tent, was a thoughtful in-room amenity that our children appreciated. There appeared to be some mechanical or air-conditioning noise from a neighbouring building, but it was faint and did not cause any significant disturbance during our stay. Overall, the hotel served its basic purpose and the family room had some thoughtful features. However, the passport incident overshadowed the stay, and we would choose a different hotel the next time we need accommodation before a flight from PVG.

Perfect for visiting Disneyland, they have a convenient free shuttle to the park. They have an amazing laundry room, a playground and offer entertainment for kids
