10.0The best thing about this place is its location, very close to the Nagasaka gondola lift and main ticket office. I also like the fact that I could rent my ski equipment right from the hotel, and stow the rentals onsite at a designated area. Every morning after eating breakfast at the lodge, I put on the gears and just needed to walk 5 minutes to get to the lift and hit the slope. The hotel is a family run business, probably from owner’s own house but it has everything a skier could hope for - good breakfast and dinner with very reasonable prices; the owner is very approachable and always willing to help customers in need; his wife and staff in kitchen are also super nice and very helpful. An intern working in kitchen even spoke excellent English, which is rare in Japan, and provided superior services. Onsen bath onsite is free to all customers, so are two washing machines and driers. The owner provided the laundry detergent so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own. Some places you pay to do laundry but not this one. Like most of Japanese hotels, real estate spaces are limited and not all rooms have a private toilet. I booked early and paid a bit more to get my own private toilet in the room, which turned out to be well worth it. No private shower in the guest room but that didn’t bother me at all as the shower room and onsen (hot spring room ) are mostly available or with a short wait. Overall, I loved my 4 nights stay there and definitely would book it again.
