I always try to leave fair and honest reviews to help future travellers make their choice. Unfortunately, my experience at Cat Ba Eco Lodge wasn’t quite as pleasant as I’d hoped, given the place’s profile – which you can see from the reviews in general and the description of the place which I believe didn't fully reflect the picture of the place. The place is situated in the heart of nature and is very peaceful, far from the noise of Cat Ba’s crowded town, so if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s perfect, but there are a few things to bear in mind before booking here. The staff are friendly and keen to help, but their English is limited, which often makes it difficult to communicate smoothly and also leads to some unnecessary confusion (even when using a translation app). The property : Expensive compared to what you get..I believe the price is high. it’s simply a clean, open breakfast area surrounded by nature. The rooms are where things get a bit more precarious: they smell strongly of humidity from being closed up, have no windows or natural light (which is to be expected for a place of this sort), and the walls are a simple wooden sheet… so for couples… don’t expect much privacy. Location: away in the countryside and surround nature , as I mentioned, 12 km from the city centre and not near any public transport… so if you’re considering it as an option… you need to bear in mind that you’ll be 100% reliant on taxis or motorbikes to get around. also there aren’t any shops nearby… and that the menu there, for both breakfast and dinner, is very limited. Payment is by cash only. So if you want to pay by card, there’s a payment link system (I’m not sure how trustworthy it is), but the owner should be much clearer on this point regarding the payment method – the information provided on Booking is vague and confusing.

A peaceful place in the nature

the lodge is completely immersed in nature. it was an old family house, all in wood. it has a natural swimming pool (with fresh not treated water). it is surrounded by the forest, so in the evening you can only hear the sounds of nature. the staff is very kind and helpful, they helped me booking the transport to arrive to Cat Ba and there is also the possibility to organise some boat tours and rent a scooter.

− the price of being immersed in the peace and tranquility of the nature, is that the location is a bit far away from the city center and from the beaches. you need to rent a scooter (20 minutes) or take the bus (40 min walking + 30 min bus) to go to the center. Remind that in the structure you can only pay in VND, so you have to be prepared and arrive with some cash

Природа вокруг потрясающая. Персонал хорошо говорит на английском. Очень отзывчивые ребята. Хорошие комнаты, удобная кровать, отличный завтрак. Буду рекомендовать своим друзьям ваш отель!

Au milieu de la jungle

L'accueil de Khoi est formidable ainsi que celui de son "brother". La chambre en chalet est très confortable, l'endroit est beau, serein. Les VTT en location sont TB mais Cat Ba est très montagneuse ...donc sportif le vélo ;-)

− C'est très isolé, dans la jungle, il faisait une chaleur humide difficilement supportable à l'extérieur. La piscine naturelle magnifique n'est pas entretenue, beaucoup de mousse ce qui rend glissant. Pas de toile pour protéger du soleil. Il faut impérativement un moyen de locomotion, comme nous n'avons pas de permis moto pour louer un scooter et pas de vélos électriques en location, nous étions coincées. En conclusion, homestay cher malgré tous les efforts de Khoi pour rendre le séjour agréable.

Wunderschöner Naturpool zun abkühlen. Von Natur umgeben. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber zu jederzeit per Whatsapp erreichbar. Man kann unkompliziert Motorräder mieten. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Sehr empfehlenswert.

− Zimmer etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sauber und gut ausgestattet.
