10.0Five star experience all the way! The room was large and immaculate. The staff even set out the bedding for us while we were out at dinner. The hotel had not just one, not just two, but three fully separate onsen areas! Each had multiple baths and each had at an outdoor bath too! The dinner was fabulous. It’s a chef’s choice dinner so there are no choices or substitutions but high quality throughout. The only negative is the hotel is in the middle of nowhere but that’s not unusual for these onsen towns.

10.0The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, surrounded by nature (if you don’t have a car then it takes a couple of hours to see the local sights). The rooms are traditional with great views, and super authentic. The set dinners and breakfasts are the best I’ve had, and were something to look forward to. There is a selection of onsens including the opportunity to hire private ones for those who aren’t confident of sharing more public pools. A highlight of the trip so far

Reservations are required for private bath/onsen. Reservations can be made by contacting the ryokan prior to arrival, using the contact information on the booking confirmation.
Children 1 year old and younger stay free when occupying the parent or guardian's room, using existing bedding.
The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare requires all international visitors to submit their passport number and nationality when registering at any lodging facility (inns, hotels, motels, etc. ). Additionally, lodging proprietors are required to photocopy passports for all registering guests and keep the photocopy on file.
