8.0This place is wonderful for the travler who doesn't want to be right in the middle of town, but still close enough to walk to everything. Also this is tico living not for those who want a hotel.

10.0This was a wonderful stay! Extremely good value! It was a little unknown to drivers and such and it's name confuses it with another hostel in town so it is easier to say that it is across from the "Villa Vilma". We were thoroughly impressed and would stay again in a heartbeat!
Terrible
2.0Dirty, smelly, noisy, no hot water, uncomfortable bed. Arenal hostel and Hostel Arenal are not the same place , check two time before reservation. The only things that was OK was that the staff are welcoming. Don't go there.

8.0I wouldn't go expecting anything fancy, but the price is right and the woman managing the place is very friendly and accommodating. Place is a little tough to find, its down the alley to the side of the shopping center and looks like a private residence.
