A five-star experience filled with warmth, care and unforgettable moments
10.0My stay at Kevans Casa in Mahiyangana was truly memorable. From Asanka, the manager, to every member of his team, the standard of service was exceptional. The hotel is small, beautiful and immaculately clean, with excellent food and a wonderfully personal atmosphere. One of the highlights was the early-morning boat trip across the lake to watch the sunrise. After leaving the boat, we took a short walk to a beautiful rocky setting overlooking the water we had just crossed. There, the chef and sous-chef were waiting to welcome us with a freshly cooked breakfast, fruit, juices, and tea or coffee, all served with full waiter service. Breakfast was followed by a gentle walk along the lakeshore and through winding forest paths, where we had the opportunity to appreciate the wildlife and the beautiful local flora and fauna. We were back at the hotel by 10 a.m., with the entire day still ahead for other activities. It was an exceptionally well-planned experience and one of the high points of my visit to Sri Lanka. Chaminda, a member of the hotel team, deserves a very special mention. He was the epitome of kindness, patience and genuine care throughout my stay. As an older woman travelling alone, this mattered greatly to me. Not one moment of the excursion—or anything else during my stay—felt rushed or pressured. Chaminda was attentive throughout and never showed the slightest impatience. I did not think the sunrise experience could be surpassed, but the hotel then surprised me with a beautiful dinner in the garden beneath the moon and stars. That was truly the crowning touch. This was a five-star experience in a boutique hotel where guests are never allowed to feel forgotten or reduced to a room number. Nothing was too much trouble, and the staff worked together as a team with guest comfort always at the centre of everything they did. I also met local people who value Kevans Casa as their chosen place for family celebrations, which says a great deal about the hotel.

10.0Kevans casa staff were exceptional. They were always happy to help, polite and I always felt safe as a solo female traveller. The rooms were also beautifully furnished and decorated. Because the location was so close to the Mahinganaya bus stand, I also found it quite easy to navigate and find tuk-tuk rides
