The owner was very nice

10.0

We stayed here two nights. This is definitely rustic, so be prepared for that. That being said, you should definitely stay here. The ladies that work here are very nice, and when we were there, they were in the midst of wrapping 50 presents to take to the highlands to kids that live in small communities. They wrapped 50 presents and wrote kids’ names on each. They also take sugar/rice to them as well. Due to high altitude (5000m), nothing grows in those communities but potato. By staying here, you can help local communities, and that should be something to strive for when travelling. Not only at her place, but everywhere in Ollantaytambo people were kind to us. Try staying for a few days and hiking around, there is lots to see. She also has a dog, five puppies, and two cats. I loved playing with the puppies! As for the place, we stayed in the private room, but I know there are also shared rooms if you’re looking to save some money. For breakfast, she made us eggs with bread. Butter and jam, tea and coffee were also available.

Excellent location for train station. Friendly own

Nice enough Hostal and friendly owner. Too many dogs and cats roaming the Hostal and going into rooms. No breakfast available as we had to catch a train. Still good for the cost.

Excellent value for money

We loved staying here. Catty is lovely and attentive and takes her business seriously. The town of Ollantaytambo is magical, and we extended our stay for 5 nights. Quick tip, the shower has warmer water at night than in the morning.

Excellent host!

Nice location close to city center. Katty is a very friendly host! We had a good stay here for our visit to Machu Picchu.
