Very nice hotel, however bedding and bathroom would benefit from a deep clean. Marks on doonas etc, lounge in the room needs replacing, tiles in shower area needs a good clean. However, large outdoor onsen is excellent and seen a lot of outside visitors come and ask to use the onsen. Tattoos ok, if you can bring your own towel, do so and a 100 yen coin for the lockers. Outside onsen is worth the visit and everyone in the onsen is friendly. Overhead a guy from the UK as if swimwear was ok… umm no, everyone is butt naked man and it’s not as weird as you might think. Very relaxing, give it a go if you’re in the area. Overall, just needs a good clean. No lift, book dinner in advance if you want to eat there.

Inside Onsen not much, but the outside Onsen is relaxing, surrounded by boulders and snow atop them. Water is hot and leaves you feeling soft, no sulfur smell. 1000 yen for Onsen, 200 yen for towel rental (bring your own), locker 100 yen.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Quiet surroundings. Good variety of breakfast (paid separately) in the morning. You can choose the breakfast timing, either 7:30am or 8am. Wish it could be at a later timing though. Onsen was fantastic and clean. There were outside visitors who came and used the onsen. There is a small indoor and outdoor onsen. There is a relaxation room with a kids corner, 2 massage chair which visitors can use for free. Smoking room is located near the relaxation room. There are some board games available in the relaxation room too. Do note that they close the onsen twice a week for cleaning. So check with them. Onsen is available for use 24/7. There is a curfew from 12am to 6am. Main entrance will be locked during those times. And there is a bathing onsen tax of 150yen per pax per day. Chargeable on check out day. Staff are friendly and helpful. Some speaks fluent english while some just nods most of the time.

An authentic, relaxing Japanese experience!

I'll dream of relaxing in this onsen lodge when I'm back at work! My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a ski vacation and really enjoyed ourselves. We don't speak any Japanese but the staff were so kind, patient and helpful despite the language barrie; some spoke a few words of English and otherwise we got by with gestures and bilingual signage. We stayed in a traditional tatami mat room, which could use some updating as the wallpaper was peeling a little, but it was large by Japanese standards, clean, comfortable and had a private 1/2 bathroom (toilet only; showers are done in the gender separated onsen shower room). Meals must be booked when your room is booked and we opted for the breakfast, but not dinner. The breakfasts were beautifully presented and included different offerings each day of small dishes, condiments, fish, miso soup, salad, etc. Some items were challenging to my palate, and some were delicious, but all were fascinating and exotic! There is a free shuttle to/from the bus stop or train station in Niseko, and also a free shuttle to/from Annupuri Ski Resort. The staff are well organized and all transportation must be arranged at least a day in advance. And the onsen! Floating in this soothing hot spring surrounded by huge snowbanks as the flakes floated down is serene. Then slipping on the cotton kimono robe, a yukata, supplied by the lodge and relaxing in the massage chair helped sore ski muscles. Yugokorotei is the "real deal" and we highly recommend staying here!

Awesome Rotenburo/onsen experience

Booked 2 night stay through a third party. My fault for not reading the fine prints of reservation as apparently booking was only for the room. Staff was wonderful to accommodate same-hour pick up from a Bus stop where we’re dropped off from Chitose nearby. Upon check in we were told we cannot “upgrade” The booking to include breakfast or dinner as they are fully booked. Traveling with a kid so tried to negotiate to no avail although we were given recommendations of restaurants/diners nearby which obviously are not much help considering the sub zero weather to walk or commute. Rotenburo is wonderful and so is the ambience. What I hope they can improve on is give priority to stay-in guest for in-house paid meals specially those with young kids. Helps if guests can speak some Japanese but good luck to those who don’t. Will come back for the onsen/rotenburo experience.

Onsen with fantastic spring water

We visited several onsens in Niseko during our visit and this was probably our favourite. The indoor onsen was nothing to write home about but the outdoor onsen was beautiful. It was surrounded by boulders and the water was very hot. The spring water is reputed to beautify the skin and it certainly lived up to that reputation. Our skin felt so soft and supple after our soak. If you go st lunch time, you can order a fantastic lunch for an additional 100 yen. Their speciality is pork which is bred in their own farm. There is a resting room and even a play area for children. Very authentic! Will definitely visit again when we are next in Hokkaido.
