8.0The staff were amazing. Being in the middle of the nowhere. And seeing the clear night sky
− Rooms have a lot of critter due to the location. We slept with scorpions and roaches. Our rooms had lots of gaps that made it easy to hide. The room also needs a bit of refreshing in my opinion.

A comfortable stay in a remote jungle hideaway
9.0We loved the remote jungle setting amongst unexcavated Mayan ruins, with exotic birds and wildlife. Our cabin was very comfortable and was equipped with a pair of excellent hot showers. The staff were friendly and the guides very good.
− The food was good but the portions far too large. We ended up splitting all our meals between two to avoid waste. We were not warned in advance about the roads to and from Gallon Jug, which were in very poor condition, with deep mud and huge potholes. A four-wheel drive vehicle with generous ground clearance is needed.

− Absolutely horrific roads to get to the 40km in extreme conditions. 2 check points, ha e your reservation ready. The jacuzzi was cold. Extremely expensive for one night.

10.0Chan Chich is an exquisite adventure melding together experiencing Mayan Ruins, jungle experience with a conservation twist. We loved our daily interactions with staff to include Cali who is an expert mixologist, Emil who made everything look easy, Sean who always had a smile, and the wonderful cook Ian. Every meal was absolutely amazing! Maria and Abdiel took care of all our needs at reception including booking excursions and chartering flights. And of course our expert guides Ruben and Louise who knew every bird and the Gallon Jug Flora and Fauna like professors. They are able to share their knowledge about archaeology, medicinal plants, and wild edibles. They know every animal and animal trail and to be on a tour with them in action is truly an experience of a lifetime! I would tell all my friends about this location and go back again! Thank you Chan Chich & Ruben/Louise!
