Lovely rooms, but not in heatwave
9.0The hotel was beautiful, staff are super friendly and can't do enough for you. Our room was beautiful and spacious, exactly what we needed.
− We had 2 rooms booked during a heat wave. One room was ok as it had a lot of windows to move the air around, we had a fan in the room but it was still warm at times. The other room was stifling hot and could not cool down at all. The rooms would benefit from air conditioning units really, even portable ones as the fan just blew hot air around. We had to keep the room door into the corridor open at times to create some air flow. Everything else was lovely, but the hotel needs to invest on how to keep their guests comfortable in hot weather.

10.0We stayed in May as this was a get together with friends. We were staying at the Lion & Swan but dining at Pecks Restaurant. The staff were excellent, one of the couples had a problem with their room but this was very swiftly resolved. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely clean spacious and accommodating. I’m pleased that we paid extra for the upgrade. I’m unable to comment on the breakfast that was included as we didn’t have any.
− When you enter the room there is a step which could be hazardous for some people and maybe should be mentioned when guests are checked in. We didn’t have any issue with this.
Fantastic place to stay. Staff really friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable and the food first class.
