been meaning to review this hotel since the last time i came. it always slipped my mind. it was that unmemorable. for the design, it is antiquated. for the location, it is quite hard to find. for the service, it's obvious the staff skipped training. the food? get them elsewhere. there are other hotels nearby. we were billeted here not of our own volition. our hosts chose this hotel for us...

I wish I never booked in Queen Margarette

I searched for two rooms with two twin beds each and found the Queen Margarette in Dumoit. Upon arrival I was told that the room was only good for one person per room and that my only choice was to pay for the upgraded deluxe room with a view that included breakfast. So I paid up and when we got into the room the view was overlooking the Emerald Garden restaurant so we can not open our curtains and expose ourselves to people eating in the restaurant! To make matters worse the music in the restaurant played on quite loudly past 10 pm. Saying that it’s a deluxe room is laughable. The bathroom is quite shabby too, the grout was moldy and mildewed in some places. Some parts had cracks on grout and the vanity was sort of falling apart underneath. The shower curtain definitely should be replaced. The towels were not clean, white and fresh looking. They also need to be replaced. Breakfast Friday was plated and not worth the P495 value that they seem to think it’s worth. The following day they did have a buffet breakfast because they admitted that there were enough people checked in that they cooked more food. Our driver’s room was equally pathetic and noisy too. Mating cats sang their love song all night long. To top off the poor experience, I realized that I got ripped off because the room rate displayed for our room was only P2,499 per night and I was charged P3,150 on top of the $107 I paid online. When I complained about it the attitude was basically “Sorry for the miscommunication but there’s nothing we can do. We will discuss it with the staff”. However, I learned that a friend had a similar bad experience the year before and she also complained about it. Obviously, they didn’t do anything to improve the place or guest experience. Maybe it’s true that people don’t have much choice of hotels in Lucena but they shouldn’t rip people off. Anyway, I don’t think anyone else should suffer a couple of nights listening to cats caterwauling or nonstop music in a room with a “view” of a restaurant sold as a “deluxe” room. I hope that realize that they are in the hospitality business and we expect a certain standard of cleanliness, quality and comfort

Traveled with seniors and this property was not “senior friendly”. Mold in rooms including bathroom which were in need of updates. Staff was trying to be helpful but they had limited resources. Disappointing especially since we expected a comparable decent experience as QM in Downtown Lucena.

The reception looks good on entry but the rooms are something else. Plaster coming off the walls Blood stain on bathroom floor Part off door frame missing from bathroom door Bad odour from bed Air con very noisy In general room looked dated and very poorly maintained. Breakfast. Food stone cold staff didn't even try to keep it warm. It was unedible. Wall paper black with mold under air-conditioning and peeling off the wall. Staff There are a lot of staff doing very little. The only one we found helpful was the guard who assisted with our luggage and parking.

Please do yourself a favour - do not stay in this hotel! It advertises itself a "an exquisite taste of royalty in a boast of queenly recreational sensation right in the southern part of Luzon. Your vacation will surely expunge your worries of being away from home".... well guess what? It embarassed me to have brought my Australian friend to stay in this hotel! There was no hot water - and even the plumber cannot fix and apologies is not enough! They offered me to use hot water from kettle and a bucket... I should just have stayed home in my home village in that case. Truly embarassing hotel - no quality standard at all! Asked to speak to the Manager - cannot be found, asked us to wait! Unbelievable.
