10.0Sehr schöne Unterkunft in einer alten, großen Villa mit schönem Garten. Geräumige,saubere Zimmer und eines der besten Bäder unserer SriLanka Reise. Nette Familie , gutes Frühstück. Strand und Restaurants ( Two Brothers können wir empfehlen) in ca. 10 Minuten Fußweg zu erreichen.

10.0Schon der Empfang war sehr herzlich und gut. Das Haus ist sehr schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und außerordentlich sauber. Das Betreiber Ehepaar und deren Eltern sind sehr bemüht und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist perfekt, alles wichtige und auch der Strand sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Das Frühstück ist hervorragend, die Großmutter zauberte jeden Morgen etwas neues und es war immer hervorragend. Hervorheben würde ich noch die absolute Ruhe, ich habe auf den guten Matrazen hervorragend geschlafen Ich komme gerne wieder!

It's best to stay in Hikkaduwa
10.0Mary Palm Garden is a wonderful place run by a very kind and welcoming family. Everyone, including the head of the family, is always ready to help with any local questions and practical advice. At my request they picked us up from Colombo, and when it was time to leave they also drove us to the airport. It was not just a transfer. Our driver gave us a real sightseeing tour of Colombo and showed us Gangaramaya Temple, Seema Malaka, Lotus Tower, the National Museum, Independence Square and the port area. At the National Museum there was a confusing situation. The museum has several buildings. Our tickets were taken in the zoological section even though they should not have been, and in the second building we were asked to buy tickets again at full price. Our driver spent a long time arguing with the staff and defended us, so we did not have to overpay. The beach and many cafes, restaurants and small shops are about a 10 minute walk away. The house itself is located in a quiet forest area. Black leaf eating monkeys often run around the property, and many beautiful birds can be seen and heard there. Motorbikes can usually be parked safely inside the property in the evening. In the evenings we had very interesting conversations about local roads, wildlife and religion. The owner’s wife and daughter prepare a very tasty breakfast, and they are happy to adjust it to whatever options you ask for. We stayed on the third floor in a very spacious apartment, about 100 square meters. It has a kitchen with a fridge, stove and sink, and a large balcony with a view of the green area in front of the gate and the swimming pool. And a special mention goes to the local four legged security guard, Juno. He always checks unknown visitors who try to approach the gate. If and when I come back to Hikkaduwa, I will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.
