Friendly and laid back stay in magical Orta

Lovely hotel. We had two brilliant days here and it had everything we hoped for: a spotlessly clean and air conditioned room, a good breakfast and easy access to the magical lake itself for swimming and of course the town and its incredible surroundings. We didn’t hire a car and for a short trip here not sure it’s needed - it’s possible to access this hotel without a car from Orta Miasino station if you are prepared for a bit of a walk (no taxis sadly!) with your luggage. Note the pavements are a little inconsistent along the roads and on arrival we took the route through the campsite - it took about 12 to 15 minutes over a mix of pathways, some grassy and with loose stones from the station to the hotel. Leaving it is all up hill and therefore more challenging. Rucksacks would be the thing but we did it with wheelie cases so it’s possible! The staff were super helpful in general and especially in recommending solutions when we coincided with the train strike. As for the town itself, island and UNESCO site up the hill - they are all must visit places. It’s a completely extraordinary place and wonderful to explore on foot - you can do the whole peninsula along the waterfront. We would definitely return here. If you book early enough I’d recommend getting a lake view room but actually the garden view room was fine.

La possibilità di poter cenare la sera in una location bellissima, senza dover cercare altri ristoranti per farlo e servito da personale molto cordiale..Mi è comunque sembrato strano che il ristorante presente in albergo rispetti un turno di riposo (lunedì) e gli ospiti debbano andare alla ricerca di altri posti per cenare. La zona con le Jacuzzi7 sarebbe anche carina ma ha assolutamente bisogno di essere ristrutturata o sistemata. La possibilità di ricaricare la vettura.

Lovely hotel, good location a 20 min walk into the main square, also a lovely lido within a 5 min walk on the lake. Friendly staff, we ate in the restaurant one of our nights and the food was lovely. Amazing views over the lake.

Schön gelegen, ansprechendes Zimmer.

− Es stehen zwei Jacuzzis nebenan auf einer Wiese (sehr schön). Diese waren aber dreckig und das Wasser hat extrem eklig gerochen. Deshalb wurden sie wohl von niemandem benutzt. Das Essen kann ich nicht beurteilen. Weil wir erst nachmittags angereist sind, wurden wir gar nicht erst angefragt, ob wir da das Nachtessen einnehmen wollen. Wir wurden direkt auf den Camping weiter unten und das Dorfzentrum verwiesen.
