Wonderful cabin stay on working farm
10.0Love this place! A little out of the way, so it's quiet and lots of wildlife to see. Ernesto and Leslie are great hosts, and the staff is helpful. The food is wonderful too.

10.0This is a great spot that isn't done justice by the description. I booked for the last 4 nights of my trip. It is a bit out of the tourist area, but a bus does go by the road daily. It is not too far from Upala and the road is being improved. I went to learn a bit about growing in CR. The owners, Ernesto and his wife Lesley were excellent and engaging hosts and I picked up some tips about farming in the area. There is a river through the property with a swimming spot and lots of plants, farm animals and wildlife (monkeys, sloth, birds) to see. The cabinas are nice with a big bathroom/shower. This would be a great place to bring young kids. There are lots of dogs running around, all rescues, so if you pet them, they will adopt you. On my last two mornings, I found that two had slept outside my gate. If you are a single traveler, or couple, I recommend you bring a bottle of wine or two and ask Ernesto to tell you about his Mayan ancestors:)
