A fantastic Center Parcs experience

Clean, well maintained, with very welcoming staff who made language no barrier. Our children loved every minute of their swimming, climbing, and riding. The swimming facilities were especially impressive with something for everyone (baby pool, toddler pool, wave pool, lazy river, rapids, slides, water playhouse and more...). The Baluba soft play was also huge, and kept the kids well entertained when not swimming. Activities were very reasonably priced (especially compared to UK Center Parcs) with no gouging of a captive audience. Restaurant menus were somewhat limited, with higher (but still reasonable) prices, as food was good quality with friendly service. Planning to self cater at least in part would be recommended if you want to avoid rehashing meals. Onsite supermarket was well stocked, and sold non-UHT milk for British travellers. Highly recommended by this UK traveller, despite the long travel time with children.

Family holiday ruined!

Just a warning to anyone currently staying at Centre Parcs Erperheide — there appears to be a bike thief operating on site. We paid €30 to hire a bike for 3 days, and it was stolen from the water park area after less than 10 minutes of use. After reporting it, we were told we had to pay £280 for the missing bike. Unfortunately, there seems to be very little CCTV coverage, and the duty manager was completely unhelpful. No real effort was made to investigate the theft — only to charge us for the bike. What’s even more frustrating is that the staff member at the bike centre never showed us how to use the lock when we collected the bike. He later admitted this to a colleague because they were so busy at the time. We’ve also since been told another bike was stolen in broad daylight yesterday, yet guests are not being made aware of this. Please be extra careful with your belongings and hired bikes while staying here. We’re extremely upset and disappointed, and honestly would never have expected something like this to happen at Centre Parcs.

Park feels unsafe, proven by the two bikes that have been stolen in the last 3 days… park security is nowhere to be seen and little help from management. One of the bikes was stolen within 1 hour and cost us €275 , no help whatsoever, they didn’t even have a concrete number for the bikes as some they said are missing I found I hired in their yard… one guy said it’s the first bike to be stolen on 3 years the manager then said it’s the 2nd this week (Thursday) so seems they are hiding the problem. The waterpark is okay, the rapids and waterpark have been closed on and off. We also had our inflatables stolen around the pool.

We travelled 2 adults and 3 kids from wales and I have to say it was well worth the journey! We have all had the best time. Children are ages 12, 9 and 6 and there has been something for everyone! (I can also see how it’s worth coming here with children even younger than ours). For younger children in the swimming pool there is a good children’s pool with slides and sand, where you can easily sit by them and watch. There is also another big water play area with slides, as well as a wave pool and outdoor pool. There is also a fantastic free indoor play area with trampolines, slides and climbing frames, and plenty of outdoor play areas, there is even a small free farm area where they can visit the goats and sheep etc. For older children there are high ropes, pedalos, water rapids etc, the snorkel pool was also a big hit! (Younger children are also allowed on the rapids if you are brave enough to take them!) Lodges are nice, I would say not as much luxury as the uk ones but I think what you lose in luxury on the lodges you gain on the overall site and there definitely seems to be more free activities available than in the uk centreparcs. The food places were great and there is an all you can eat/drink buffet option that included coffee and alcohol, which was great value for money! The outdoor seating area on the restaurant on a sunny day overlooking the lake really was fantastic. Staff here are also so accommodating and friendly, service was always great. We will be recommending and returning, thank you!
