10.0Absolutely stunning hotel - I felt like I was the star in a movie the whole time! I really appreciated the attention to detail, both in the decorations but especially with the staff. We ate at Charmaine's and enjoyed food both out on the rooftop with amazing views, and then moved inside to the bar. Service was very friendly and the food was delicious. The location is good for getting around San Francisco - it is an urban area but the hotel experience is totally worth it.
Cozy and chic!
10.0Loved our stay at the San Francisco Proper Hotel! We came into the city for a girls’ trip over spring break (teachers off duty!) and it was the perfect spot. The staff were so friendly and welcoming—Brady especially went out of his way to make sure everything felt thoughtful and taken care of, which really made our stay stand out. The rooftop bar was such a highlight—great energy, beautiful views, and the food was fantastic. We especially enjoyed the oysters and sliders. The whole place has that effortlessly cool, cozy feel that makes you want to linger a little longer. Looking forward to staying there again!

10.0Location is a bit sketchy, but its San Francisco - the entire city is kinda sketchy. The property itself was very nice. The staff is super attentive. The interiors are super nice. The food was very good. Everything about the hotel itself was great. I would definitely come back in the future...
Most beautiful hotel in the country?
10.0This is one of the most beautiful hotels in the country by a long shot. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are stunning and the restaurants are amazing. Make sure you get dropped off at the correct spot or valet and you'll have a wonderful experience.
Great location to buy crack and step in human feces.
4.0I came to town to buy crack and fentanyl, and this hotel was perfectly situated. I was also attempting to contract some infectious diseases and share some needles. JK. I know this neighborhood is not the hotel's fault, but Marriott cannot be charging rates like this for a hotel on the sketchiest block in the US. The rooms, interior, and staff were all excellent, but because we couldn't leave the hotel safely after dark and the restaurant/room service is limited at night, our evening was spent eating delivery and watching the junkies from the 7th floor. I normally check TripAdvisor before booking, but didn't bother on this one, my bad. I hope I make it to the Uber safely after checkout tomorrow. If not, RIP me.
Good, but a couple sour points
6.0Great public spaces and restaurants inside hotel. Rough area of SF though, but can't blame hotel for that. Be prepared to call car or drive anywhere, didn't want to walk at night. Good service, but room was not fully cleaned upon arrival. Housekeeping only available upon request, but we weren't told that at check in. Great food options, probably fastest in room dining delivery I've ever had (20-25 min from tone order was placed). Rooftop bar is great.
