Muy Recomendable
10.0Habitacion
Very, very disappointing, which is sad because we had such a great experience here last year.
5.0Nice, big room. The snorkeling off the beach was awesome. The lobby bar is excellent. The service by some was very good.
− The food was worse than the all - inclusiveness we have stayed at. Last year the food was MUCH better here. The walls are very thin, making sleep difficult. The umbrellas on the beach are cheap and poor. The decline in food and overall service since we were here last year is WAY down.
Everything on the water!
8.0The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and just as described. We were disappointed that the restaurant in the separate building was closed, but the breakfast buffet was so good! Sara and Ruth in the spa gave the best massages and were so kind! Beautiful water and snorkeling right out front. We’ll be back!
We plan on visiting Cozumel again!
10.0Our house keeper, Lorenzo, was amazing. He made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were nice and the atmosphere was very chill. We had the best beach area for snorkeling around.
Convenient and relaxing
8.0Breakfast was fantastic! So nice that everything is so close to water.
− The restaurant in the separate building was closed.
Beautiful Property, But We Should Have Been Warned About the Renovations
6.0We recently stayed at The Westin Cozumel and came away with mixed feelings. There is a lot to like about this resort. The staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely tried to be helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, and the ocean views are spectacular. Unfortunately, our overall experience was overshadowed by extensive renovations that were never disclosed before our arrival. Construction continued into the evening, including during dinner hours. The noise was clearly audible from our room on the 16th floor, making it difficult to relax after spending the day exploring the island. While I understand hotels occasionally need renovations, guests should be informed when the work is significant enough to affect their vacation. One of the biggest disappointments was the closure of Gaviotas, the resort’s oceanfront restaurant. Instead of dining in the beautiful beachfront setting shown in the promotional materials, dinner was served as a buffet in the hotel lobby. We often found ourselves eating just a few feet from the front desk while guests checked in and out. Construction crews were also working nearby, installing lighting around the pool area, with constant hammering, dust, and debris. It felt much more like eating in a busy hotel lobby than enjoying dinner at an upscale beachfront resort. What disappointed me most wasn’t the renovation itself. It was the lack of transparency. Had we known beforehand that the primary restaurant would be closed and that construction would be ongoing throughout much of the day and evening, we simply would have scheduled our vacation for another time. I would absolutely consider returning once the renovations are complete because the property itself has tremendous potential. Until then, I encourage anyone considering a stay to contact the hotel directly and ask detailed questions about the current status of the construction, restaurant availability, and any amenities that may be affected.
