8.0We liked the location the food was excellant
− We had been at a family funeral and arrived back to the hotel at 19:30: we went to change and came back to order food we asked if we could order at 19:49 and were told we were to late even though food was still being brought out and desserts were being ordered we found this unacceptable even though we explained we had been at a family funeral they were totaly not inerested with this being the case we will not stay again and will inform family and friends never to use this hotel
Would be an ok place to stay without the noisy building work directly next door
4.0The staff were lovely, breakfast was good. Tried haggis for the 1st time and wasn’t disappointed. Good location, short walk to the town centre and lovely sandy beach.
− We were put in a room overlooking an active demolition site. Which was unbearable noisy. Despite talking to a member of staff a day prior to arrival, this was not mentioned. And no information on their website. As we had 2 dogs with us we needed to be out of the room from 8am to 5:30pm to escape the noise. We couldn’t keep the window closed as it was so warm. Thus a very stressful couple of days. We sent 2 emails to the hotel and have had no response. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

− Young staff still undergoing training? At evening meal in the bar area we had our main course then waited 30 minutes after finishing; a young waitress came over and cleared our plates, but didn’t ask if we’d like to another drink or to order desert. We were left sitting there on our own.
