Beautiful interior and nicely integrated in the trees. Interior is clean and stylish. Just like we remembered it from last time.

− You get a throwaway sheet to cover your pillow. I interpret this as pillow cases are not being washed. This was not the case last time we stayed.

The place is awesome, great location if you want to go diving with Mikomoto Hammers. The house feels super cozy and the staff is amazing. If you end up reading this looking for a place, stop looking, you got it!

Onze gastheer Jun was supervriendelijk. Wij moesten onze plannen wijzigen vanwege een tropische storm. Jun kwam er uit zichzelf mee of we nog wel moesten komen vanwege die storm. Hij deed totaal niet moeilijk over annuleren en dacht enorm met ons mee. We zijn een paar dagen later alsnog naar Villa Yumigahama gegaan en ons verblijf was in één woord perfect! Prachtig plekje op aarde, veel te zien en te doen in de omgeving. Vooral ontdekt door Japanse toeristen, nog niet zozeer door anderen, dus niet verder vertellen:-)

− Beetje lastig te bereiken met het OV, maar de moeite absoluut waard!

Villa Yumigahama isn't a 5 star resort but the owner and location is 5 star worthy. The apartments are Bo-Ho but clean and tidy and well supplied with everything your need for your stay, including a record player and guitar for listening to as the sun goes down.. We opted to get a BBQ for our evening meal which was set up on our little balcony, there is a small charge but it's well worth it. You have to supply your own food but the supermarket isn't far. The beach is just a short stroll away and you can get a coffee or breakfast just a 10 min drive. If your legs are up to it they have bikes you can use to explore the area.

Best things about this place: - Jun & his family (they make the climate of this place - you will feel at home, every step of the way) - views (of course) - the architecture of the place - everything is at your disposal: kitchen spices, swimming equipment, bikes, treehouse, beach bag, space to chill out. I have never been to a place prepared for any needs of the clients. Wonderful! Highlight of our stay in Japan. However, if you like boring hotels with anonymous staff for whom you are anonymous - this is not a place for you :)

Amazing, almost fairy-tale like cabins

This was quite an extraordinary stay during our trip to Japan. We were a little late for check-in, and also we went during the low season. We were met by an exceptionally friendly man in a workers overalls. I'm not really sure who he as. In any case, he offered us an upgrade to a bigger cabin with a private tree house. Heck, we were even offered a second cabin for free for our kid to sleep at which we kindly declined. The place is just amazing: a bunch of cabins on a steep slope, all illuminated by cozy lighting. It felt like an elf village. What an awesome stay!

− Futons were packed in one of the bunk beds and they had kind of kinks in the middle when unpacked. Stairs to get to the cabins are quite long and steep. It was not an issue for us, but keep than it mind before booking.
