I rely on TripAdvisor reviews for almost all of my travel planning but I truly struggle to leave negative reviews. Based on other reviews, the proximity to town and the reasonable price - my mom and I booked two rooms for two nights at the Towne Motel while visiting Camden. Our greeting at the front desk by one of the inn keepers was less than stellar, I was instantly put off but we checked in and decided to make the most of it. The next morning by mother had to call to ask for assistance with her heat as it was the first cold night of the year and was told the inn keeper was "making breakfast in her pajamas" and couldn't help - implying it was my mothers issue to deal with. Luckily, she was able to restart the heater and get it to work. My room was incredibly old and outdated with severely stained carpet - though my mother's room was pretty nice. Overall - Pros: Super close to town, ample parking and budget friendly. Cons: Staff not welcoming at all, outdated room, the free breakfast left a lot to be desired.

Cons: -Rooms seemed clean but smelled terribly musty. -Firm check-in at 3 (not a surprise) and check-out at 10 (was a surprise) makes for a quick turnaround for vacationers. (10:00 checkout was because of off season.) -In spite of repeated assurances via email and over the phone that there would be someone to help get luggage upstairs, upon arrival we were told there was, actually, no help available. We'd chosen upstairs rooms because of advertised extra space and extra natural light but would have been fine with staying in cheaper first floor rooms if we'd known about the lack of assistance. Clear communication about that before arrival would have been great. Pros: -Free parking. -Convenient location. -Nice rooms if it hadn't been for the smell.

The Towne Motel is a quaint little motel walking distance from downtown Camden. Everything about our stay and the hotel was top notch.

Another Wonderful Stay!

This is our second time at the wonderful motel. The rooms & the breakfast are still perfect!! This time we brought another couple & they enjoyed it as much as we did. Thank you so much for a great stay & hope to see you both again! Karin & Jim

Our one-night stay at Towne Motel was a great experience. The hard-working owners were very friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations for our day in Camden. It was only a short walk into downtown, which saved us from trying to park there. The walking path is a bit narrow in places, so probably not handicapped friendly. Communications about the motel after booking, then just before our stay, were much appreciated. Our room was super clean and the motel grounds were immaculate. We loved having the modern touches combined with an old-fashioned motel feel. And the homemade breakfast offerings were all so delicious!
