A True Jewel in the Algarve
10.0Our stay was in an older, 2-storey motel-type building surrounded by villas. All suites in our building faced the ocean, and the beach boardwalk was a few steps away. Our suite had a kitchenette and was large with stunning, direct views of the ocean and nearby rocks from the large balcony. Enjoyed it immensely. Difficult to find as it is in Alvor, not Portimao proper, and there are numerous Pestana facilities in the vicinity. The grounds are under construction and parts of the complex are a bit run down.

6.0The oceanfront location is the saving grace for this resort. It is old and neglected. Beds are horrifically hard and torturous to sleep on. Staff are friendly but that doesn’t make up for facilities neglect and lack of cleanliness. Luckily they are on a a fabulous beach.
