Never stayed anywhere like this. Felt magical sitting on the deck over the lake to see turtles and koi fish. At night, you can see the stars and hear the beautiful sounds of nature.

Beautiful scenery overlooking the water. We had a delicious cheeseboard recommended by the owner with the complimentary wine on the deck. Very clean. Good location near the wineries we wanted to visit.

− A few tiny bugs here and there on the fruit fly scale. Nothing too crazy, just keep the doors closed at night. Made a new baby frog friend while we were trying to sleep. Gave us a good scare, but the frog was actually adorable. We let it back out.

Our boathouse was simply stunning! The aesthetics were stylish yet felt like home. All the personal touches made the stay so comfortable. Our favourite part was the deck overlooking the water,.. they provide fish food which encouraged the fish and hungry terrapin to come and see us each morning. It was so peaceful and tranquil. We loved the little touches like providing plates, wine glasses etc which meant we were able to enjoy our tasting purchases from the local Lovedale wineries and delis (our favourite vineyards were in very close proximity). Also cracked out a dvd for a cosy night in! The sound of nature was awesome .. yes there are mozzys but there’s a mosquito net and just take some repellant if you want to spend time on the deck. The owners (Kristy) were on hand if we needed anything, there was an issue with hot water (for a short period) which was totally out of their control, due to planned works, however Kristy went out her way to provide us with a breakfast voucher for the inconvenience which was super appreciated. All in all 10/10 and we will definitely come and stay here again!

− I’m sure along with every other customer we just couldn’t quite get used to having no door separating the toilet from the rest of the accommodation .. lucky we are fairly comfortable together but I would be mortified if I was with a new partner 🤣 The design is simply stunning but I think a glass door just to muffle the noise would be a suggestion although I totally get it may ruin the aesthetic of the room.
