Events take priority over everything else
2.0I stayed two nights. Service was horrible--reception and restaurant service. I had to ask several times for a menu, wait to be seated, wait for staff to bring the bill, etc. There seemed to be a large event while I was there and staff was no where to be found. It appeared that staff where prioritized for the event. I found blood stains on the linens. Reception asked me to point the stains out prior to changing the linens. Overall, the hospitality was very lacking compared to other places I have stayed during this trip.
Had a great weekend
10.0We stayed two nights over Easter weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We were five adults in two standard rooms plus a woodland hut. Accommodation was very good. We had dinner in The Cowshed restaurant - food and service were excellent. Being Easter, there were many families with young children, so the Saturday morning breakfast was not the most relaxing, but we were happy with it. There were wedding celebrations going on, but we were not disturbed. There’s plenty to do - good walks, activities for children. We walked to tennis courts locally in Tewin. The place had a good vibe and was well run with good staff. Plenty of parking. Would recommend.
Excellent venue
10.0We had an excellent time at this venue for my daughters wedding. The food was wonderful. We had roast beef which was absolutely delicious. The rooms were comfortable the beds extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were luxurious with excellent showers.
Nice place to stay, could be improved
8.0Pros 1. Lots of walking routes 2. Able to feed the alpacas 3. The properties are well kept and well presented 4. Staff are friendly Cons 1. You have to book well in advance to secure a lunch or dinner table even if you’re staying there as a guest 2. The food was not as tasty as expected given it is farm to fork. The pork belly was very difficult to cut through
If you haven’t been, go!!!
10.0We found this quite by chance when looking for a dog friendly place to stay. It’s very near to us but was an out of this world experience! It is a spotless, clean and well maintained vast space with shepherd huts, woodland huts and garden rooms, dogs have an abundance of walks to go on, kids have a beautiful play park, animals to look at and the view is simply stunning. There are lots of places to eat, an area outside with sofas, four wood burners and the most delicious homemade pizzas. The stable bar had a singer who was unbelievable. Everyone who works there falls over themselves to help you. The food in the stable bar was exceptional as well as the choices of wine and drinks. The river, the accommodation that is beautiful and feels luxurious. I forgot the breakfast, buffet style with continuous hot food, pastries and continental style food available too with dietary considered options also. I just cannot recommend Tewinbury highly enough.
Mixed feelings
6.0Came to stay for 2 nights for my son’s wedding. Paid for a room which I thought included a separate living area but this wasn’t the case. Although the room was lovely , it wasn’t value for the money I paid . Food nice but very pricey! Pretty venue and lovely staff
