Ungodly, Dirty, poorly managed.

I want to leave this review not for me to cry but to save some poor soul who decides to book this hotel. My wife and I arrived to no one at the desk we stood there talking and waiting and saw there was a bell and after some time rang it. Litterly 10 feet away the front desk lady pops up from behind a glass partition where she could have easily heard us sitting there talking. She was unfriendly checking us in. The elevator floor going up to our room was filthy. We got to our room and when we went inside the first smell we were hit with was dog odor. Unfortunately we were told this was the last available room or we would have left and since I used my free Hilton night to book I dug in and stayed. I got into bed and then found trash between the comforter and the sheet so no one had changed the sheets from the prior hotel guest. I sneezed all night long due to the cleaners obviously not cleaning the dog hair out of the room. In the morning my wife and I didn’t even eat breakfast we got the heck out of there. Worse hotel I ever stayed at. I may sound like a Ken or Karen I’m not asking for anything other than hope someone reads this and saves theirselves some money and time staying here. Read the other reviews. This hotel is obviously not managed very well. Walk in and see how dirty the place is before u pay. Wish u luck.

Location was good.

− When I tried checking in at 3:05 pm, they had to check if there were any clean rooms available. Mind you, I mad reservations 2 weeks before.

Overpriced hotel with subpar breakfast. Pool was only decent thing.

Our kids enjoyed the pool. Room seemed clean.

− The breakfast options were terrible and didn't seem very fresh. The price of the room was outrageous. $450 for one night at a Home2 in Iowa City Iowa was far too much. It should have been half that. The bedding material was scratchy. There were no towels in the pool, and a sign was up saying we had to bring our towels from our room. So, then we asked the front desk for more towels for our room so we could shower, and we never got those towels.

− My room was next to the office and I’m certain the staff was smoking cause I could smell smoke the entire time I was there. Also, I don’t know if there were children above me, but it sounded like children were running all hours through the night.

The front desk lady was super nice and the breakfast was okay

− The pool was broken, kids were upset. I didn’t have a bathroom door in my room. Kind of inconvenient
