Wunderschöne Lage, kleine eigene bucht/strand mit super schönen Reef. Perfekt zum schnorcheln. Sehe schöne, einfache bungalow, sehr sauber und bequeme betten.

Luxury in the nature with fantastic views

Travel dates: 02.01.2026 – 08.01.2026 / Room: #4B Positives: • Extremely well-organised snorkelling and diving centre • Big, comfortable and safe boats • Spacious and luxurious room • Beautiful views from the room (4B) • A lot of variety in the food • Very delicious cocktails with a wide selection • Very nice and interesting house reef • Extremely hard-working staff throughout the resort – including the waiters, housekeeping, gardeners, and all behind-the-scenes team members • The beach is kept very clean, with trash collected every day • Wildlife encounters directly on the property: we saw two snakes, a large monitor lizard and several praying mantis General comments: 1. Despite what some other reviews suggest, we felt this is definitely a resort for snorkellers as well, not only for divers. While the house reef can experience stronger waves—especially in the afternoon and evening—you can easily walk over the hill to the other side of the property, where there is a calm and secluded bay. Snorkelling with the dive boat is also a good option. We recommend using the house reef in the morning; we were lucky enough to see a beautiful cuttlefish there. 2. The shower water is not fresh water, but it is much better than some reviews describe. It’s absolutely fine for showering and does not leave a sticky feeling on the skin. We would just advise not rinsing your mouth with it or letting it get into your eyes, as the taste is unpleasant. 3. The air conditioning is switched off during the day, but upon request it can be turned on without any issues. 4. Sandbags are used in some areas to stabilise the beach and protect the property from waves. These are covered with sand, but during periods of strong winds and high waves, the sand can slowly be washed away, making the sandbags visible. This is only on the small slope leading up to the resort, not on the flat beach itself. For us, this was not a negative point at all, but simply a practical adaptation to nature. 5.

− Points to be aware of: • Noisy hillside room: We could hear our neighbours in room 4A talking and snoring, even though they were not speaking loudly. The walls are quite thin, which means there is limited sound insulation. For the price you pay, a bit more privacy would have been nice. We later learned that there are hillside rooms without direct neighbours, but this information wasn’t clearly visible during the booking process. • Mosquito net: The mosquito net is beautifully designed and a great idea, but it doesn’t close completely at the bottom and is not fully sealed, which reduces its effectiveness against mosquitoes and insects. We didn’t experience lots of mosquitos during our stay, probably because of the strong winds. • Housekeeping lights: In the evening, housekeeping leaves the lights on when preparing the room for sleep. This felt unnecessary, especially since the resort makes an effort to save resources.

ACHTUNG PREISFALLE!!!

− Achtung Preisfalle! Wir sind seit vier Monaten als Backpacker in Asien unterwegs, und leider kann ich das Murex aus Preis-Leistungs-Sicht nicht empfehlen. Der Aufenthalt ist für das Gebotene einfach deutlich zu teuer. Positiv hervorheben möchte ich jedoch: Das Tauchen war wirklich wunderschön, die Unterwasserwelt beeindruckend, und das Team war ausserordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit (Man wird meistens mit Namen angesprochen). Auch das Essen war hervorragend, das möchten wir ausdrücklich loben. Trotzdem stimmt das Gesamtpaket nicht. Der Strand ist in sehr schlechtem Zustand – an vielen Stellen ist der Sand komplett abgetragen und mit alten Sandsäcken bedeckt. Die Zimmer sind zwar schön, aber spärlich ausgestattet. Es gibt zum Teil keine Minibar, Wasserkocher und Telefon. An vielen Orten ist das Standart. Nach dem Tauchen kann man im Zimmer zudem nur mit Salzwasser duschen. Was uns am meisten gestört hat, war jedoch der sehr hohe Preis für den Transfer zur Insel. Für eine 15-minütige Bootsfahrt werden 1'400'000 IRP pro Person verlangt – zum Vergleich: Ein normales Boot kostet rund 100'000 IRP. Trotz mehrfacher Nachfrage war es uns nicht möglich, einen alternativen Transfer zu nutzen. Aus meiner Sicht stimmt die Preisleistung im Murex überhaupt nicht, und ich würde anderen Reisenden empfehlen, sich nach einem anderen Resort umzusehen.

Raramente recensisco strutture alberghiere, ma il Murex resort Bangka si merita una mensione speciale. A partire da Chris che ci ha accolto di persona, continuando con Sergio e Anna, e tutto lo staff veramente attento che la nostra permanenza fosse piacevole. Cibo delizioso, sempre vario e cocktails perfetti, servizio accurato e un ottimo diving centre con attrezzature nuove e persone molto professionali ed attente al benessere degli ospiti. Ci sarebbe molto piaciuto rimanere di più, e magari partecipare al PASSPORT TO PARADISE, escursione del MUREX. La struttura è all’altezza della bellezza dell’isola che la ospita.

− Forse qualche piccolo particolare estetico nelle camere, e se riuscissero a fare il caffè espresso a colazione sarebbe perfetto. Ma noi siamo italiani. ;)
