Lovely boutique hotel but avoid room 2 for noise

− Room 2 was SO loud. Very loud at night. It was next to the kitchen so there was crashing of pots and just general kitchen noises until 10pm or so. Don't recommend if you are trying to get an early night. Some noise in the morning but not as bad. Bit of a walk to town but we enjoyed that. Lovely staff

− The car parking was difficult due narrow entrance and limited turning space. Self check in procedure was tedious, navigating lock boxes and codes. Given the property advertises itself as a Boutique Hotel it would have not been unreasonable to have a check-in desk and a human to give you keys and instructions. Plenty of instructions in room about, taking our your own rubbish, washing, drying and putting away all utensils etc but no so much as even a phone number to contact if there were issues. Describing it as a Hotel is a wrong. It is an unserviced apartment. If that is what you want it wasn't a bad one. A little maintenance would not have gone astray on a few items. It was also disappointing that the airconditioners were cooling only with no heat cycle. While needing heating is rare in Cairns our stay was one of those rare times. We would have been cold if I had not had the foresight to bring my own electric heater.
