Our stay was really nice in spite of the fact that the staff had not received our reservation and had closed for the season. We arrived around 5:00 pm to a dark agritourismo. We called the number on the sign, and they immediately sent someone over from the nearby town to let us in. We ended up having the whole place to ourselves. It is in a beautiful location. You can see Segesta Temple which is about 11 minutes by car from the agritourismo. The breakfast was tasty and prompt. Our only complaint is that the bed is extremely firm. There are some very sweet animals on the property.

Isolated area but lots of action nearby. 360 degree view from the restaurant. Excellent food. Be sure to communicate with the hotel about arrival time. No English most of the time.

Personal attention from Pietro. Good breakfast, too. Finding the property is not straight-forward. The first time we arrived was at night. Google Maps (* see below) brought us there, but I was uncertain whether the sign by the roadside meant that we should turn there or continue ahead. Turn right at the sign and head up the steep hill with a very rutted road (well, hardly a road!). It is quite a few hundred meters, you can't see the place as you drive up the hill, and you can easily think that you've taken the wrong track. The next day we left and again returned at night, but this time Google Maps could not locate Agriturismo Gessi - it kept coming up with a different Agriturismo in Calatafimi. We tried to find the place again, but failed.We ended up in Calatafimi, late at night, where we went into a bar to ask for directions. Lo and behold, there was Pietro, our host! He was very helpful and got into his car so that we could follow him home. Pietro went out of his way to help us a number of times, and spent a long time telling us about the history of the area (using an Italian-English translation app. It worked pretty well!) I totally recommend this place, but take careful note of how to get there. And, once again, the breakfast was delicious.

I loved my stay at Agriturismo Gessi. I was travelling alone for four days for a much needed break and this was ideal for me. I was visiting several towns in the area including Trapani, Erice, Castellamare del Golfo, Scopello, Gibellina, Selinunte among others and it worked perfectly as a base to get to these places. Pedro is very friendly and despite the language barrier he and his son made sure the stay was very comfortable. I stayed in the separate building just down from the main house. The room and bathroom are very spacious, clean and comfortable with a lovely terrace and a gorgeous view of the countryside. There's a shower with great water pressure, plenty of towels and a hairdryer in the room too. The best part of the rooms in the part I stayed in is the view of the ancient Greek temple at Segesta. It's especially beautiful lit up at night. I ate lunch on arrival day and most dinners in their dining room and the food was great and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Gessi if you are looking for a very reasonably priced, comfortable, clean, welcoming place to stay and I would definitely stay there again if I'm in the area. Thanks Gessi!

We were staying in the area to visit Temple at Segesta. From our balcony we had an excellent view of the Temple, a tremendous surprise. The room was clean and comfortable. Our two nights were made much happier by the local cooking from our host Pedro and his wife. Excellent value.
