Great strategic location to plan around Oban
8.0The location was great, everything within walking distance. Staff was polite and helpful. We got lucky and had a beautiful sight to the sea so that was amazing. The room was spacious and bed was comfortable.

Wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it.
4.0Location was great, but there's plenty of similar accommodation to be had nearby.
− Room #2 is a bit of a disaster in terms of noise. The staff warned us that we might hear people coming down in the morning for an early tour, and that they ask people upstaris to be quiet if leaving early. This did not happen. Room #2 is across from the reception and about two yards away from the coffee machine. Yes, people do use the coffee machine at 3 AM, as we can attest. All in all, it's probably a good place to stay if you're not in room #2 but on a higher floor. Promised refrigerator nowhere to be found in the tiny room. They 'forgot' to amend the description.
Altavona house was a welcoming, comfortable hotel about a 10 minute walk from the village of Oban.
8.0Staff were welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed our breakfast that was delivered to the room.
