We had three excellent nights at OceanLife Surf Stay! The location is ideal, less than 10 minutes by tuk-tuk from the main beach in Weligama, and only a 5-minute walk from Jungle Beach, which is much quieter and more unspoiled. The room is very clean with a large bed. The bathroom is also spacious and has hot water. The breakfast is generous and delicious. Overall, the place has a very chill vibe, and Shannon & Imke are friendly and welcoming hosts. They gave us the contact details of a tuk-tuk driver who was lovely. He took us to several places, and everything always went very smoothly. We took a surf lesson with Shannon, and it was incredibly valuable for us to receive video and photo feedback. It helped us a lot! We highly recommend staying with them!

Great villa with wonderful hosts in quiet location, accessible to beautiful beach

We had a fantastic time at Ocean Life. We stayed for three nights, loved the breakfast which changed every day and also had dinner twice which was beautiful. The rooms are large, clean and very comfortable with air con and fans and serviced daily includng fresh water changed in the fridge in our room. The bathrooms are also large and spotlessly clean. It was lovely to have the lounge space upstairs to work or chat with other guests, pat Polly and to watch the monkeys play in the trees. Shannon and Imke are wonderful hosts who helped with recommendations of drivers, places to visit, places to eat - anything we needed to know they provided advice on (including returning lost property!! - thanks guys). We also did a surfing lesson with Shannon which was great and added to our time in Welligama. The villa is 5 minutes walk from Jungle Beach which is a quiet place for a swim or surf or a 20 minute walk into Welligama town. We highly recommend Ocean Life Surf Stay as a base to explore the area, learn to surf or relax in the quiet.

Everything was great from the communication before and during my stay, the meals and the consideration and thought put into the services provided (which went beyond the usual expectations of a hotel). It felt like home away from home with a like-minded friends who by the end of the stay felt like I'd known them for longer than the 5 days I stayed. The location is perfect for exploring the south coast with Jungle beach on your doorstep for surfing, swimming, snorkeling or just soaking up the sun. I arrived weary from lots of travelling and left feeling revived and relaxed (not wanting to leave). Thank you, Imke and Shannon for sharing your little piece of Heaven :)
