7.0Good location and has obviously been stylish in the past.
− Bathroom rather old and shabby.
A wonderful funky glamorus old hotel
9.0We have stayed at the Grand Hotel de Londres on past trips to Istanbul. Built in 1892, it still retains the feeling and grandeur of that period (although fairly faded). The rooms are old and funky but where else can you get a large overly ornate room with a view of the Golden Horn for a little over a hundred bucks. We stayed in room 301 this time. The bar downstairs is small but classic and Ilhan, the bartender, is an instition and very pleasant. The basic breakfast buffet is included and the view from the rooftop terrace is quite nice. We will be staying here again when passing through.
− Because of the hotel's original opulent interior, it has beome a destination for post-wedding couples photography. Throughout the day couple after couple, with photographers and assistants, proceed through the hotel and to various photogenic spots. It is not really an issue, and very entertaing, but sometimes there is a slight delay on the staircase or at the bar.
Nice location, very poor wifi, the constant influx of brides having their photo taken gets annoying
4.0Location is good, even though traffic in front of the door never seems to end.
− It's an old, very old building both outside and in. Room sizes are ok, but everything is very dated, dusty and carpetted up. Wifi quality is hardly worth mentioning, very slow and unstable. The entire weekend (from saturday morning until sunday evening) the hotel is filled with couples that are getting married are having their photo sessions everywhere in the hotel, so you're literally in the way of somebody all the time. Nice to see for half an hour, annoying if you're falling over brides and grooms in the hallways, stairs and lobby.
