10.0The room was very spacious with lots of natural light. The bed was very comfortable and it was lovely to have a bath tub as well as a very decent shower. The staff were incredibly helpful, and friendly. We liked it so much here that we ended up staying twice. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Lijiang.

9.0The location is great, just inside the old town, not too far from the South Gate. The host is very pleasant and helpful, she recommended some good food places to eat, arranged the transportation for us to get to the Tiger Leaping Gorge and helped us purchase the Lijiang Eternal Love show tickets. All her help made our visit to Lijiang stress free. The property is clean and the beds are comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Zeer bedenkelijke praktijken om goede reviews te krijgen
1.0Wij verbleven vier nachten in Xilu Xiaoxie Inn Old Town NAXI in Lijiang. Helaas hebben wij ons verblijf als zeer onprettig ervaren. Positief zijn de centrale ligging en de sfeervolle uitstraling van het Guesthouse, met een kleine traditionele courtyard. Wel geven de foto's op Booking.com een veel ruimtelijker beeld geven dan de werkelijkheid. Een
− Het meest zorgwekkend was dat het hotel ons, terwijl wij er al verbleven, ten onrechte als no-show bij Booking.com heeft gemeld. Hierdoor konden wij onze boekingsgegevens en kosten niet meer normaal inzien en moesten wij contact opnemen met Booking.com om te bewijzen dat wij daadwerkelijk in het hotel verbleven. Toen wij mevrouw Hon hierover aanspraken en vroegen deze onterechte no-showmelding terug te draaien, weigerde zij dit. De uitleg over betalingen en de gevolgen voor Booking.com vonden wij onduidelijk en niet overtuigend. Later gaf ze toe dat ze dit had gedaan omdat ze bang was voor een kritische review. Daarna ontstond voor ons een zeer ongemakkelijke situatie. Wij werden erg onder druk gezet om een hoge beoordeling te geven (minimaal een 8), waarbij emotionele argumenten werden gebruikt. Dit voelden wij als ongepaste druk. Bij vertrek werd ons bovendien 50% korting aangeboden wanneer wij een positieve review zouden plaatsen. Wij hebben dit aanbod geweigerd. Naast deze kwestie waren er ook praktische problemen: onze geboekte kamer bleek bij aankomst niet beschikbaar wegens onderhoudsproblemen, de vervangende kamer had gebreken zoals een beschimmelde muur tussen de badkamer en slaapkamer waar het stukwerk vanaf viel en de kamersleutel werkte tijdens ons verblijf niet meer. Deze zaken werden uiteindelijk opgelost, maar de communicatie hierover verliep moeizaam en vaak geïrriteerd. Wij reizen veel en hebben wereldwijd in veel accommodaties verbleven, maar de combinatie van een onterechte no-showmelding, druk rondom een positieve beoordeling en de manier waarop hiermee werd omgegaan, hebben wij nog nooit eerder meegemaakt. De accommodatie zelf heeft potentie door de locatie en sfeer, maar onze ervaring met de bedrijfsvoering en communicatie was zeer negatief. De accommodatie houdt er zeer bedenkelijke praktijken op na voor goede reviews.
