10.0Stayed at the 3 horseshoes as a mid way break on our way up To The Lake District for an wedding, hotel is clean and comfortable, bar is well stocked and they weren’t Charing rip off prices, the restaurant was very good , wide range of food available, we were joined by our daughter and 6 year old granddaughter for dinner , the staff were really accommodating with us changing time of meal … even though they seemed a bit under pressure as they had a wedding taking place …

4.0AVOID IF DISABLED I have a little trouble walking because of a fractured spine. Our room was upstairs at the far end of a corridor. The pub and the restaurant are completely unsuitable for wheelchair access (steps). So for our 3 night stay I couldn't use it, having to walk up and down stairs to eat or get a drink, and then more stairs to get to our room. I was exhausted and stressed. I very much regret booking this place for our 10th wedding anniversary. Spa treatment prices so expensive, I didn't bother. The food choices were fewer than our stay 2 years ago. Meals were expensive, not reflected in the quality of the food. On our last day, we skipped breakfast altogether. We didn't fancy grizzled bacon, underdone toast, over scrambled eggs or cheap tasting baked beans. Guess what? We won't make another visit.
