We loved Zao Onsen. Beautiful powder snow. Amazing hosts.

− It didn’t worry us, but some people may not like the lack of showers - The bathrooms are toilet and hand sink only. The hosts provide Onsen tickets for Onsen and shower down the road.
Great warm stay for a great value. We will be back.
10.0Very nice couple who owns the property. They drove us to town, gave us breakfast and free onsen tickets. Easy ski in and ski out.
− No personal bathrooms. Only communal bathrooms in the hall but it’s not that big of a deal. They were always clean and two steps from the room.
The owners were fantastic could not do more to make stay more enjoyable

6.0The owner and his wife were very helpful, driving us from a nearby carpark where we had to leave our 2WD van because it wouldn't have made it up to the accommodation. He also drove us to a restaurant for dinner. Very basic facilities and no onsite shower, although tickets to a nearby onsen were included. Bring a towel or hire them. Simple breakfast of croissant and yoghurt. Walkable to ski lift 29.
− If you have a 2WD car, you'll need to leave it down the hill.
