5.0− The room was so hot and took forever to cool down.
Clean but Rude

− I booked this motel in March. I got the call no body ever wants, "Your Dad is dying, you might not make it home in time." I asked for a refund. They said Booking.com had to do it. But Booking.com said it was strictly up to the property... As their cancellation policy was to call directly for an exception. My dad died, I didn't make it in time to see him. I called again to see if they would have any mercy or even a partial refund. The answer was no. That's their right I suppose but the owner's attitude was so terrible. He was very rude and cold about it as if my circumstances were irritating him. Booking.com worked very hard to negotiate with them but they refused. When asking if I could just change the date for a couple months later, they charged an additional $32. Booking.com gave me $5.00 discount out of compassion. Upon arrival I dealt with a woman (assuming the wife), she was not friendly, no smile, and proceeded to tell me all the things that weren't allowed or consequential fees. It felt like being in the principal's office. Tense & awkward. I looked up on the counter, a sign read after 10 minutes of checking in no refunds given on rooms. The motel itself was old and ran down but it was well cleaned and in repair. No breakfast, no pool, no dropbox for keys with a locked office in the morning. The stay was fine and clean, I just was very disappointed in their cold behavior. It seemed these people had no feelings but cold staunch behaviors, looking for money. I basically never complain, and make the best of the situation, but I was very shocked at their behavior in the midst of someone else's grief.
