An exceptional multigenerational family holiday!

We have just returned from a fabulous family holiday at Emerald. We travelled as ten guests aged between 15-80.We loved the island, the accommodation and the delicious food and fun activities. Our multi-generation family group had so much to do! What made it exceptional were the staff members we encountered each and every day. Everyone was so dedicated and friendly, going above and beyond. Our villa concierge, Wisam, was warm, friendly and responsive, always on hand when we needed him. We were impressed by the food and beverage offerings all around the island, especially the amazing gala buffet dinners for Xmas and NYE. Alok and his team are all so talented. Special mention to Jimmy who treated us to his dosa and his special pani puri. Also Om who cooked perfect poached eggs every morning and was always smiling. The restaurant staff across the resort were also exceptional. Special mentions to Nitin, LC, Meraj, Shanoon, Al Han, Arrej, Daniel and Siri. We enjoyed a great Padel tennis session with Filip, the gym and spa, biking round the island, fishing and dolphin trips with Nappe, and diving with Hannah, Fahd and Andrea. Lastly, the housekeeping and grounds teams were so hardworking and kept our villas and the resort spotless. Thank you to them all. Everyone from top management down is to be commended. We’ve never been anywhere like Emerald before and hope very much to return in the future! Thank you so much for giving us the holiday of a lifetime, full of unforgettable family memories.

The best staff!

The staff here is WONDERFUL! Now I’ve said the most important thing! Our third visit to the Maldives in 1 1/2 years. Same atoll but different resorts. This was the best! The wine list and the food is top notch and can compete with any restaurant! The service is outstanding in every area. (I should not have waited so long to write this review because I honestly forgot the names of the ones that made our stay perfect, such a shame!) We had a water villa with pool and do not regret that. Bathroom was huge! So was the outside area. Aquatic life not very impressive right outside the villa but we found a few places that were great for snorkeling. Too many loud Russians but I guess that’s just something we have to deal with. Island is not too small or too big. Each villa has their own bicycles and makes it easy to get around. This place is beautiful! Can’t wait to go back!

Great family time

We had an amazing family time at Emerald, we were there with our 7 year old son and he had the time of his life. He spent so much time in fun and games at the kids club, he became friends with the whole team. We stayed in a Superior beach villa and it was amazing, only the current in front of the villa was a bit strong. The only house reef was on our side of the island and it was not amazing in comparison to other Maldivian islands but still beautiful, there were a lot of colorful fish and reef sharks, also beautiful corals. Special thanks to our concierge Jasmine who was extremely supportive and accommodating and always smiling and giving positive energy.

Wow! Amazing. A family holiday with 2 teens will not be forgotten. At Valena airport, you are greeted by the Emerald Resort staff. The staff are very helpful and take care of the check-in process and the transfer to the sea-plane. After landing at the resort, we were greeted by garlands and flowers a beautiful touch. As well as the The General Manager Mr Rohit, whom we had many conversation with throughout our stay. We then met our villa host, Shafiyu. He was absolutely amazing. We had a tour of the island, He booked/changed times of the restaurants. Any requests were fulfilled quickly and efficiently. Thank you so much! Our villa was cleaned inaccurately by moddy. He was brilliant. We loved the bikes, it kept us active and we were able to get around easily. A few things that will help you pack. 1. No need for shoes as you live in your sliders all day. 2. The resort provide a beach bag 3. In the room there are plugs-in insect repellent. 4. Alarm clock that can connect to Bluetooth to play your playlist 5. The TV has USB connection. The food, drinks were of very good quality, you will not be disappointed. The restaurant chef were always happy to accommodate variations. Jimmy made us a fabulous Maldivian curry, it was so yummy. The only improvement we would suggest is to serve the meat and rice altogether in the teppanyaki and not separately. The spa, gym, Watersports and the dive centre facilities were fantastic. We recommend this resort, and would rebook.

Not good enough

Stayed here with friends in October for my birthday. I wanted to visit this resort for last couple of years just out od curiousity why it gets 5 star on tripadvisor all the time. Unfortunately i can say we share that opinion. We stayed 4 days in supeior water villa (which are great, spacious, big pool and probably the only normal access to the reef) and 3 days in regular water villa (which are really not up to the 5* standart). First of all - the architecture of the island, specifically location of the beach near the restaurant with breakfasts - it really lacks proper attention. The is no pool there while that is exactly the place where its supposed to be. Windy water villas make it hard ro swim and enjoy sun and ocean, while at the opposite side near the restaurant everyone is crowded to get not-so-windy expereience. The regular water villas are quite old with woodeb beams supporting the walls separating privacy from the next villas. The food in restaurants that you can book os perfect, no argue, but the breakfasts are somewhat a dissapoitment - feels like the management tried to spread too much over different cuisines without paying enough details for each type. And the transfer back was terrible (i know its not entirely hotels fault, but even information and organization was faulty) and we almost got late for the flight in Male, which never happened in last 30 visits to Maldives. Overall i cant say it was up to expectations.
