The Dundas Arms sets a high standard of quality in every aspect.

10.0

To have a room with a patio fronting the river was an unexpected bonus. The room was clean and comfortable and the ambience of the entire place was warm and and welcoming. The staff were attentive and friendly. The setting of the pub was delightful.

My only complaint would be the meal on the Sunday evening, which was not up to the standard I'm sure is normally set, and not that of the excellent breakfast we enjoyed the following morning.

Lovely setting, very handy for Highclere House and Windsor.

Fantastic location and lovely setting by the canal.

Had to request milk (which was ok) but it came in a jug rather than little cartons so was no use for the following morning. For the price we paid, also would have expected some of the chargeable breakfast items to be included (eg cold drinks).

Close to Highclere castle, nice spot on river, great beer garden,

7.0

We were visiting Highclere castle nearby, The hotel was very good, staff were accommodating and friendly, however on a very hot day, there was nothing cold on the menu, a crayfish cocktail was off, as were 3 other dishes leaving little to choose from, no fridge in the room meant only tepid bottled water, however great breakfast , perfect eggs. Lovely stay in general.

The shower head was broken wouldn’t stay up so used by hand, there is a large glass shelf above the sink that makes it impossible to wash your face as so close and not ideal, and the bath in the bedroom on a plinth, unusual seemed very high and not terrible practical.
