Good staff, terrible hotel

The bed was nice and comfortable. The staff were brilliant and tried their hardest to make the stay as nice as possible. Unfortunately, a lot of things they could not help with.

− Started very badly as the location of the hotel for booking.com and the address is no where near where the hotel was so took another hour to find the property. Arrived and the whole hotel is a lot more run down than the photos, the photos are from a time where the hotel was in a better standard. The signs are falling off and the pool is in a bad state (and a lot smaller than expected). Had to move rooms twice as the first room the lock wouldn’t work and the second the air conditioning wouldn’t work. The staff gave us a “honeymoon room” to make up for it which essentially gives a bigger bed and more space which is nice but the hot water leaked and kept leaving puddles on the floor. The staff said they would fix it but that turned out to be putting a bucket underneath. The shower was terrible and dribbled out water and the water kept turning off because they were having disagreements with their supplier. The public toilets of the eating area were dirty and at one point had a cockroach. The included food was a joke. There was no buffet option so you just get what you are given. The guys who cooked did a great job but the portion sizes were small. We asked for a little more and they happily gave which we were grateful for. But when we left the hotel they then charged! Taking a massive amount of piss. The theme of acting like things are included but then charging later happened a lot. At one point they said they would get us a car into town, which turned out to be an overpriced taxi. All together the hotel is nothing as advertised and overpriced, even with the room upgrade. It’s falling apart and it’s all about trying to scam you out of more money. The only good thing was the staff, trying to help whenever they could but there was always a feeling like they couldn’t do much to help. It was just the way of the hotel. They don’t deserve the bad points but people need to know the truth of what they are paying for.
