Pub that happens to have some rooms available
6.0Great location, lovely pub. Discount on drinks. Even though you’re above a pub, you don’t hear sound from it.
− Expect nothing fancy. It feels like a pub that just happens to have some rooms available. Everything is outdated.
A wonderful spot to stay when there’s no heatwave.
7.0A nice room in a great location only a 20 minute walk from the Southampton cruise terminal. As an added bonus hotel guests enjoy a 10% discount on all beer, wine, and spirits in the pub.
− Our only complaint was the lack of air conditioning. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, but in the middle of a heatwave (like the one we experienced in late June) our room was like an oven.
A great stay in a good location.
9.0This was my second stay at The Grapes. It is a perfect location for where I needed to be and surrounded by lots of options to get something to eat. 10% discount on bar prices was a nice touch too.
− It was a little noisy outside late at night so I didn’t get to sleep until the early hours but that’s only to be expected during the summer when there is outside dining nearby. I wouldn’t put me off returning.

Nettes, sauberes Hotel in zentraler Lage mit sehr guten Betten.
8.0Die Lage war gut, die Betten extrem bequem, das Zimmer und vor allem das Bad sehr geräumig. Alles sehr sauber.
− Leider gab es in dem kooperierenden Café gegenüber sowohl Montag als auch Dienstag kein Frühstück, im Hotel selbst auch nicht. Schade.
