A lovely place for stay in a beautiful village in the Sussex countryside.
8.0Delicious lunch on arrival and god breakfast the following morning. Helpful service and a lovely location. Bed and comfortable and bathroom was spotlessly clean.
− Better fan or air conditioning is needed to make rooms comfortable in really hot weather. This was the only thing and spoilt my stay.
All in all it was quite a disappointing experience. We missed the “old” charm of The Griffin Inn.
5.0Since 2013 we have been visiting The Griffin Inn in Fletching from time to time. It had always been a pleasure, the staff used to be very friendly and welcoming, and the food excellent and to a very high standard. The location ist still perfect, the street picturesque, the garden of the establishment as lovely as ever, and the beds very comfortable.
− Unfortunately we didn’t realise that there had been a change in ownership. The quality and presentation of the food was poor, the staff inattentive, sometimes even rude. My daughter ordered an alcohol free beer but she was served one with alcohol.

Sfeervolle, gezellige en typisch Engelse herberg met lekker restaurant.
9.0Prachtige, typisch Engelse pub in een mooi dorpje, met leuke sfeer, een gezellig druk terras en prachtige tuin. Uitstekend eten (hele lekkere hamburgers!) en een goed ontbijt.
− Geen airco op de kamer, geen douche (je kunt jezelf afspoelen in het ligbad).

− Het douchen in bad is niet ons ding, je kon de douchekop nergens ophangen. Beetje lastig.
Timetravel to the past by staying in this beautiful old Inn in a perfect “Agatha Christie” village
9.0Most wonderful old Inn with traditional pub and more upmarket garden restaurant with excellent food. Very friendly hardworking staff, at times slightly streched it seemed? Outstanding gardens with far reaching views! Set in a picture perfect village.
− Our rooms in the coach house were clean and well equipped. But be aware the garden-restaurant tables are directly outside the bedroom windows, no more than 3m distance with service running until 23.00 (and a bit later). This didn’t allow me to open my bedroom windows in this warm weather. Entrance to the coach house appears a bit shabby. The carpet is ready to be renewed and doors could do with lick of paint. Water damage on the bedroom ceiling….. but nothing that a bit of maintenance couldn’t sort out. Bath and bedlinen was clean. We definitely would return.
