− Staff were hard to contact, they didn't reply to emails before arriving. They weren't very knowledgeable about tours/buses etc. Shower was often cold.
Nice hotel in El Tunco
9.0The staff is very friendly and the location is very close to restaurants, bars, and the beach. The breakfast is delicious, and the pool is nice and refreshing. They also offer a shuttle service to the airport.

The staff is excellent, but the room and breakfast service were not what I expected.
5.0Papaya Lodge was comfortable, and I felt very safe. The Lodge staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, had proper ventilation, and they offered parking (you may have to leave your key if you park behind another car). There is a pool, and you can rent a surfboard there too. The Lodge is conveniently located within walking distance of the shops, "street vendors," and restaurants. Our favorite place to eat was Dale Dale. They have delicious pupusas, smoothies, frozen drinks, and comida tipical.
− The fitted sheet kept slipping off one of the beds. We were given one bath towel per person and only 1 face towel. I had to request a second face towel and received a bit of pushback. The breakfast was ok. I travelled to El Salvador for its culture, which includes comida tipica, so I would have loved fresh local fruit like anona, pitaya, papaya, locally available bread rather than banana and strawberries and white bread from the US. I would have been happy with a handmade tortilla and requeson!
