Overall a great visit and a wonderful site.
8.0The menu is limited but the food is excellent. The staff is especially helpful and friendly. And the location, of course, is amazing.
− The cabin was nice, but the main room furniture smelled and was very old. We had mice the last night of our stay getting into our food. Some of the dishes were dirty and needed to be re-washed.

6.0Food was amazing. So fresh and delicious. Detached restrooms and showers were very clean. View of trees were beautiful.
− Server Susan was rude and consistently made unnecessary remarks and comments that made me feel very unwelcomed. I was also charged twice, once through booking.com and second from the resort. I was also advertised for n booking.com that I would get my own bathroom. That was false. The cabin is very old and unkept. Sink was very dirty. Drawers don’t open well. Curtains don’t open without falling off rod. It would be cleaner sleeping in a tent.
Lovely place to stay if you dont have to drive up and down the mountain every day

10.0It’s an absolutely amazing place in the middle of the mountains, far away from the rush and “civilization.” A perfect spot for a calm and relaxing getaway. We stayed in the Monarch Studio — a very cozy wooden room with a private bathroom and a terrace. It was fully equipped with towels, bath soap, a heater/fan, fridge, electricity (including an electric kettle for boiling water) and a French press. The resort’s restaurant offers very tasty breakfasts and dinners. The staff were super nice and helpful — we arrived late, after the check-in time, but everything was ready for us. I highly recommend hiking from Mineral King up to Monarch Lake and further to Sawtooth Pass — it’s an absolutely breathtaking trail (the section up to the lake is easy, but the climb to the pass is quite challenging). I can definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful stay in nature.
− The road up to the resort is very winding and narrow — it takes about an hour to drive the 21 miles from CA-198. It can be a bit exhausting, but it’s manageable and fully drivable with a regular car.
