10.0Lovely, quiet, stylish. Delicious generous breakfast to start off our days, one of which was enjoyed courtesy of the loaner bikes which were in great nick and performed well on the hilly roads.

A good place to stay in Long Melford, but fell short of expectations for the money charged.
9.0The property was exceptionally well appointed, very clean and well located for everything in Long Melford.
− For the price we paid we would have expected everything to be exceptional. However, this was not the case. The bath was a good quality stand-alone bath, but it had high sides and proved difficult to get in and out (my legs don't function as well as they used to, and grab rails would have helped). The breakfast was good, but just lacked a few things (see below), which surprised us, given all the Thank You Cards and Accolades in the breakfast room., In particular, the choice of starters (ie cereal / yoghurt / fruit) was very limited. Also, we were not offered a choice of how we'd like our eggs done (the default was fried, which turned out to be 'over-fried') nor were we offered refills of tea/coffee. Clearly, scrambled eggs were available (as other breakfast choices offered them) and so were poached eggs as my wife did ask for and get a poached egg with her avocado and bacon on the second morning. The second morning I said I didn't want toast with my breakfast but my wife said she'd like brown. However, the only toast she got was the white toast the breakfast came on (and she didn't get any offer of separate toast). We are sure that if we had asked for these things, they would have been supplied, but they should have been offered without us having to ask.

9.0Everything about the room Location was superb
− A burnt breakfast. I did the typical English thing and didn't complain. I'm sure they would have done something (I love black pudding, but not when it is totally dry). Bacon was crispy tho i feel it wasnt deliberate as the fried egg and sausage also tasted with the tint of carbon Wish I'd of given them a chance of redemption because the room was exceptional
We had a very enjoyable two night stay at The Mill and would definitely return if we can.
10.0Breakfasts were excellent, as was the location. From looking at previous reviews, our expectations were high and we were not disappointed! An exceptionally comfortable bed, plenty of storage, lovely large bathroom and beautiful garden to sit in. Everything was as described and Paul’s recommendations for evening meals were spot on!
