10.0Clean modern room but would recommend paying the extra for a larger room with a view. Food eve meal / breakfast etc was excellent with very attentive staff in all departments. Excellent weekend break. Would recommend.

10.0Excellent service as soon as I arrived at The Barrel Inn. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly and extremely helpful. From check in, breakfast, bar staff and waiting on. Food was wonderful. Apart from the above what most impressed was when I was out for a walk, Oliver contacted me to see if myself and my husband needed a reservation for that evening. Above and beyond as far as I'm concerned, looking after their residents. As I know from the evening before the pub would have been extremely busy. Well done The Barrel Inn.

6.0There were no windows in the room. The bed was comfy and a good shower, but it was dark and airless. We stayed for dinner which was very average but the breakfast was good. And the views outside are wonderful. Not great value for money considering how much we paid.

10.0Delightful old hilltop inn with commanding views over the Dales. Friendly efficient staff. Very well appointed spacious modern room ( Barrel). Excellent stylish dinner: there is a chef behind the scenes! Attractive base for walking/ touring
