I would not recommend this hotel. The location is very inconvenient.
4.0The hotel’s location was the biggest drawback. It is situated between Karuizawa Station and Naka-Karuizawa Station, making it quite inconvenient to get around. The road in front of the hotel is a busy main road, so walking is neither pleasant nor practical. You will likely need to take a taxi or a bus. However, the bus only runs twice an hour and is often delayed, while taxis require an additional dispatch fee when booked through the local taxi service. We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room on the ground floor of the new building. Unfortunately, the room was located right next to the private hot spring baths, which resulted in a very damp environment with a noticeable musty smell. The wooden deck outside our room was even blocked off because the boards had warped due to the moisture, which clearly reflected the humidity issue. The only highlight of our stay was the breakfast. The ingredients were fresh, and the quality of the food was excellent.
